We all get pretty jaded by the awards shows and this year’s Golden Globes was much more about the fashion than the less-seen independent films and premium-pay cable shows. The most accurate quip of the night came from Jeremy Renner when he presented with JLo and her very, very deep-cut dress…she said “I’ve got the envelope” and he said, “And you’ve got the globes”. No question, the best accessory at the Golden Globes was cleavage, real or created. The real cleavage was courtesy of mother-nature and Salma Hayek, Katherine Heigl and Heidi Klum. The ‘fakers’ did a great job and the winners were…JLo, Jessica Chastain and Kerry Washington. Lesson learned, if you’ve got it, flaunt it…if you don’t, it’s become much easier to fake it. The Globes also had an array of colors, but black, white and red were the winners. A sprinkling of pales in pinks, blush and yellow, but the drama was definitely in the bold. The showstopper for pure surprise was Jane Fonda. My 26-year-old daughter called to ask me how that was even possible…looking so amazing at 77. I will answer the way Jane Fonda did on Oprah…”really good work”. Regardless, she looked absolutely amazing. And she, like Helen Mirren and a few other ‘older’ women wore red, and wore it unapologetically! If you’re brave, wear black with your cleavage. If you’re downright bold, wear red with your cleavage.
